Essential Oils

Essential oils are a concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile chemical compounds from plants.

Essential oils are also known as volatile oils, ethereal oils, aetheroleum, or simply as the oil of the plant from which they were extracted, such as oil of palo santo or frankencense.

These aromatic compounds contain combinations of terpenes which have been shown in various studies to have both topical and aromatherapy benefits for a variety of ailments. Some terpenes are safe for consumption but this does not mean it is safe to ingest an essential oil as some may be highly toxic.

Please always check with your health professional before ingesting any medicinal compounds; natural or otherwise.
