Broad-spectrum CBD
Simply put… Broad-spectrum CBD products contain almost every compound found in the cannabis plant with one key element missing: THC.
The absence of THC makes broad-spectrum products different from full-spectrum products, which do contain a little THC. [usually no more than 0.3%]
Broad-spectrum products are also different from CBD isolate products. CBD isolate is pure CBD, with no other cannabis compounds.
Broad-spectrum products are generally ideal for use with your pets as THC may have a toxic effect, particulary on dogs. [another article will be coming on this later]

Full-spectrum CBD
Full-spectrum CBD contains all beneficial constituents naturally found in the cannabis plant.
These include:
- Cannabinoids: There are more than 100 cannabinoids, including CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD and THC are responsible for the therapeutic and psychoactive effects of cannabis products; among various other intriuging and interesting cannabinoids still being researched such as CBG, CBN and CBC to name a few including their acid forms. While CBD doesn’t cause impairment, THC has an intoxicating effect.
- Terpenes: Cannabis has more than 150 terpenes, which affect the plant’s fragrance (think: what makes an orange smell citrusy). Terpenes can also have therapeutic benefits (think: how lavender has a calming effect).
- Flavonoids: Cannabis includes about 20 different flavonoids. Flavonoids are found in all kinds of plants, including fruits, vegetables, grains, and more. Like terpenes, they have therapeutic effects. Research from 2016 shows that the flavonoids found in cannabis have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and neuro-protective properties.

CBD Isolate
CBD isolate is a pure form of CBD that can be synthesized quite affordably in a lab but may also be isolated usually from the hemp plant. CBD isolate contains no other cannabis plant constituents.
CBD isolate is a crystal form of CBD, and it is often ground up and sold as a powder.
CBD isolate is not a product we currently work with, however this may change in the near future.
